PLANNING

What to Expect on Installation Day

Installer carrying a window frame across a front lawn

Installation day is when months of planning come together. Knowing what happens — and how to prepare — helps the day go smoothly for everyone.

Before we arrive

  • Clear a path to each window or door being replaced, and move furniture a few feet away.
  • Take down curtains, blinds and anything on the window sills.
  • Plan for pets to be in a quiet room away from the work.
  • Let us know about alarm sensors on any windows or doors.

When the crew gets there

Our installers will walk through the plan with you, confirm which windows and doors are being replaced, and lay down drop cloths to protect your floors and furniture.

During the installation

The old window or door is carefully removed, the opening is checked and prepared, and the new unit is set, leveled and sealed. We work one opening at a time, so your home is never left open for long.

Cleanup and walkthrough

When the work is done, we clean up and haul away the old windows and doors. Then we walk through every new unit with you, show you how it operates and answer any questions.

After installation

You’ll get information about caring for your new windows and doors and about your warranty. If anything comes up later, our local team is just a phone call away.
